Newborn intensive care admissions for RSV fall by half in England

The UK Health Security Agency reported that intensive care admissions for babies under six months with RSV chest infections fell by 50% in England last winter. The drop followed the first full year of the NHS maternal vaccination programme, in which around 60% of women giving birth monthly received the vaccine.

The vaccine programme protected thousands of newborns from severe respiratory illness during their most vulnerable months.
