Police fetch antivenom as three Blue Mountains rescues unfold in a day

A bushwalker bitten by a suspected brown snake on the Pool of Siloam Track in Leura set off the first of three Blue Mountains emergencies today. The call came about 11.20am. Highway patrol officers went to Katoomba Hospital for antivenom for a waiting Toll Ambulance Rescue helicopter. At about 12.19pm a second helicopter was sent from Wollongong to Linden's Paradise Pool, where a person had a significant leg injury. They were winched out and taken for treatment. At 1.44pm four bushwalkers were reported lost near Bedford Creek Trail, one of them dehydrated. NSW Ambulance, Blue Mountains Police Area Command and Police Rescue found and retrieved all four safely.
Several critical incidents ran at the same time. Blue Mountains Police Area Command said the coordination between agencies ensured positive outcomes for everyone who needed help.
