Roslin pupils sow wildflower meadow by hand at Roslin Glen

On 6 October, 20 Primary 7 pupils from Roslin Primary School sowed a new wildflower meadow at Roslin Glen Country Park. They scattered 2kg of seed by hand, in mixes containing more than 70 species of wildflowers and grasses. Midlothian Council's Ranger Service and project partners worked alongside them. When the meadow blooms next summer, it is expected to give wildlife food and shelter and to draw butterflies and bumblebees.
Roslin Glen Country Park now has a meadow built for local wildlife, and visitors are invited back next summer to see it in full bloom.
